A Love Story From Switzerland

For eight years, I lived in Switzerland near the French border where every cobblestone street seemed to lead to a pâtisserie... those warm, enchanting French bakeries that fill the air with butter, sweets, and a touch of magic.

I had moved there for love, the kind that feels like a storybook beginning.

I met my French husband in California during his internship year, and when he proposed, I followed my heart across the ocean to a picturesque European town.

It all sounded romantic, but love stories aren’t always as effortless as they appear.

Between time zones and language barriers, I often found myself homesick and wondering if I had made the right choice.

One quiet afternoon, feeling particularly adrift, I wandered into a small, charming pâtisserieNo online reviews. No plans. Just the comforting aroma of chocolate and croissants.

Inside, everything felt gentle. Think cozy lights, warm chatter, and pastries so beautiful they seemed to whisper stay a while.

That day, a kind Swiss retiree helped me order my first chocolate truffle cake.

We then shared tea, laughter, and stories: hers in French; mine in broken words and smiles. Though I barely understood her, I felt completely understood.

For the first time in months, I felt at home.

From then on, that truffle cake became more than dessert. It became a symbol of belonging, of connection, of rediscovering happiness in the smallest choices.

Years later, when I returned to America, I searched for that same feeling... the warmth, the intimacy, the craftsmanship. But most bakeries I found felt bright, sleek, and impersonal. I missed the magic.

And so, Hanna x Bow was born! A love letter to those pâtisseries that once comforted me, and an invitation to rediscover the art of warm, delicate indulgence.

At Hanna x Bow, we celebrate our passions and moments that truly feel one-of-a-kind.

Every creation is crafted to capture that feeling of being seen, enchanted, and inspired.

I hope you’ll find this little corner of French-inspired sweetness as magical as I remember it.

And best of all, I hope you find what you’re looking for.
